Katy and Cole Get Married {Fall City Wedding Photography}

OK...so I FINALLY am getting some pictures up for Katy and Cole.  Their wedding was beautiful and took place in Katy's backyard.  It was full of family, joy and love!!  It was a privilege to be able to capture a part of their day.  (As a way to make up for my slowness...I've included a bunch of images.  So grab a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy!!)
Katy's grandma put the flowers together and I loved the way they looked before they trimmed all the stems to be the same length.  The colors were so beautiful and vibrant!!
Katy putting on her shoes.  I love the light behind her.

Katy is such a beautiful bride.  Her dress was amazing and she has the best eyes!!

I love the "high fashion" look of this one.

Alright...so all I have to say is that this was one of the most fun groups of groomsmen.  Usually the bride and bridesmaids will do whatever but sometimes the guys are a little tentative.   These guys, however, were a BLAST to photograph.
  This is the "eyebrow" photograph...

 Are these guys amazing or what????????
Not to be outdone, here come the girls....

 So the neighbor across the street had a trampoline and the girls decided to get on it and have some fun.  Shhhh....don't tell the neighbors.  They weren't home when we used it.  And if you are "the neighbors" and you recognize the trampoline...thank you for letting us use it!!

 Strike a pose!!!
Katy's dad died quite a few years ago.  He was greatly missed.  I know he would have been amazed at the beautiful bride that stood before me.
  The pastor read from Philippians during the ceremony so I thought I'd capture the rings on this page.  I like the words inside each ring.  What better to build a marriage on than "thanksgiving" and "prayer".
  Just before the wedding, Katy and Cole had a moment together....with a gate in between them.  No seeing one another before the ceremony!!

This little guy is Cole's nephew.  He made a great ring bearer!!!  The hands holding him in the picture are his mom's.  She is a great wedding coordinator.  You can check out her site here - Poised Events.

Katy's grandpa gave her away.  Doesn't she look radiant??  Cole had tears in his eyes as he watched his beautiful bride come down the isle.

  I **LOVE** her bouquet!!!
  A couple from the ceremony...

  They had an empty chair with a flower on it in honor of Katy's dad.

Ahhh....together at last!!!!
  We went back to the gate.  Now it became a place for sharing a kiss.

Cole asked me at some point where they got those pictures that come with picture frames like you'd buy at Target.  I mentioned that they are most likely just stock photos from some where.  He decided that he wanted their picture to be found in those frames.  Well, Cole....I think this one would be a great shot for that!!

As we wrapped up our part of the wedding, Katy and Cole headed off to the reception...may you both have many moments for walking and holding hands.  May God bless you on all the paths He sends you down.

Thanks Katy and Cole!!!  I had such a blast!  Your wedding was beautiful and it was a privilege to get to be a part of this amazing day!

Stacie and Rich Wedding {Snohomish Wedding Photography}

On Saturday I had the privilege of photographing Stacie and Rich's Wedding at Lord Hill Farms in Snohomish, Washington. What an amazing event!! This was an "exclamation point" event. I feel like every sentence I write should end with an exclamation point (or two or three). It is difficult to try to capture all the festivities and emotion of the day in 20 or so pictures...but here is my attempt!!
First, a shot from their engagement session....
One of the things that struck me about the day was the amount of little details that Stacie had put into the day. It showed her thoughtfulness of others, her gift giving abilities, and love of fun little surprises. The shoes were beautiful and had "I Do" on the bottom of them. She had both something blue (underwear that said "I Do" as well), and something borrowed (a little charm in her veil that was from her mom and dad's wedding, I believe). SO FUN!!
Then there was the detail of the flowers. As they were setting up for the wedding, the flowers just kept coming and coming! And they were breathtaking!! I don't thing 100 pictures could do justice to the amount and beauty of the flowers of the wedding. For those of you who were there, you'll just nod your head in agreement with me and for those who weren't, I've added a couple of pictures for you to see.
Getting ready, I just had to capture that beautiful ring on the hand of soon-to-be Mrs. Meyer...
Stacie and her bridesmaids were so fun (and beautiful)!!! They were relaxed and laughed with each other. I could see their love for each other...and how much fun they like to have together!
The ring bearer and flower girl were so cute! Once again - in the details...the flower girl's dress had the same buttons as Stacie's dress going down her back!
There is so much more I could say, but let's get to the main focus of the day...THE BRIDE!! Stacie, you are beautiful and you were positively glowing on Saturday!!
Not to leave Rich out...here he is with his groomsmen. They were relaxed, fun and oh so handsome. (Although I understand that between the two groomsmen, there was some hair cutting and change of color a day or two before. It would have been fun to have before and after pictures!)
Rich and Stacie opted not to see each other before the wedding, but that didn't totally stop them from being
together. We placed them on either side of a thick curtain just before the ceremony so they could talk, hold hands and connect.
Once again, the flowers...this is a picture of the aisle. Ribbons, flowers, petals, beautiful floral arrangements up front...oh my!! It was breathtaking!
A wide view from the back of the ceremony. And what a great ceremony!! A family pastor did the service, one of the bridesmaids sang, they lit the unity candle...and the ring bearer did a great job staying up there the whole time even though you could tell he was bored. (But what can you say...when you are a boy of four years old, weddings are not that exciting. Now, legos...there is some excitement!!)
HURRAY!!! They are finally married!!!!
After all the family pictures...together at last!!
You can tell Stacie and Rich have found their *BEST FRIEND* in one another.
One of my favorites of the day! May you have thousands of more moments to kiss one another over the span of your lifetime together!
So I feel like there are still dozens of pictures I would need to post to do the whole day justice. There were so many details and stories, I couldn't tell here (or the post would just go on and on and on and on...). Thank you to my friend, Moch Snyder, who came and second shoot the wedding with me. Thank you to Rich and Stacie's families...it was a tremendous celebration (and I love the flowers I got to take home!!)
Thank you, Rich and Stacie. It was a true privilege to get to capture your day in photographs. May your love for one another just grow and grow over the years!! And may you always be about the little details and fun surprises for one another!

Welcome Paige {Tacoma Newborn Photography}

Our friends Matt and Lisa came over the other night with this delightful bundle of 4 day old JOY!! We had them over for dinner and some photographs (and lots of holding and snuggling that little one!)
So we thought that once she ate and was asleep we'd do all these great sleeping baby shots, but Miss Paige must be a little like my daughter and not want to miss out on any of the action...because she fought sleeping as hard as she could!
I love this little look she gave us. Even at 4 days she looks like she is planning something just a little bit sneaky and is wondering if anyone is watching.
The next two pictures go together because we got evidence that she was sleepy...
...and she was out once we put a blanket over her. (She wasn't totally fond of the naked thing. Can't say I blame her!)
I always like this picture even though it is done a lot. To me it symbolizes the creativity of love. When two people love one another they want to make new life to bring into that love.
And here is the family...
Ahh...we finally have a little naked (mostly) sleeper!!
Perhaps my favorite shot. I love the hat, the wrinkles, and the slightly squished face. I could just eat her up!
Congratulations Matt and Lisa!! May you enjoy watching her, kissing her, taking care of her, playing with her, and totally loving her!!
