Marry Me: Crystal and Duane {Seattle Wedding Photography}

I know, I know it is Wednesday and that means a Breathe post should be here, but how about taking a little break today, grabbing a cup of coffee and coming to a wedding with me??

This last weekend I got to attend an EVENT - a great celebration - for Crystal and Duane and their families!!  And I am honored to get to tell a little of the story of the day to you....which of course, means as many pictures as I can without overloading the blog, so you can feel like you were there with me!!  Let's start at the amazing Arctic Club...the hub of the activity for the day!!  (And yes, I know this picture is small, but it is because Facebook is doing some freaky stuff with the first picture of each blog post....)

Weddings are made up of all kinds of stories...some are big, some are connections, and some are small like the details...but they all come together to tell a story of love!

Crystal was absolutely STUNNING!!  Her dress was beautiful and her shoes were given to her as a gift from one of her friends!  Her mom and all the bridesmaids were there to ohh and ahhh over her...and for the second picture below, you would have thought I had a whole set of paparazzi behind me with the amount of flashes going off!!

Crystal and Duane had special gifts for one another before the wedding.  (On a side note...while we were getting ready, Crystal was pretty sure Duane would not have a card with his gift for we made sure one got written!!)  Duane, I hope you enjoy the look on your beautiful bride's face here as she reads that note from you.

Pearls and cuff links...Duane and Crystal are great gift givers!!

I love it when a bride and groom choose to see each other before the wedding!  The special few moments of that First Look are amazing to capture!  Watching Duane seeing his Bride for the first time and watching his breath be taken away...well, their love and admiration for one another hung heavy on the air in that entryway.  It was almost palpable.

Not only did their feelings for one another cling to the air around us, but so did a little thing called precipitation.  Chances of some rain showers were high, but we decided that as long as rain stayed at bay, we would get some pictures outside.  We got plenty of honks and "congratulations" as we ventured out on to the streets near the hotel!

(Super special thanks to my friend and fellow photographer, Renee Bergmen, for photographing this wedding with me.  Renee is not only a gifted photographer, but a wonderful woman with an amazing heart!...the picture below is one of hers.)

A little proof of what was to come...rain and a lot of kissing too!!

If you know anything about me, I have this thing for feet and walking.  I think it is such a picture of our whole lives.  And whenever a bride and groom walk next to each other, it reminds me of the quote by Albert Camus,
"Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow.  Don't walk behind me; I may not lead.  Just walk beside me and be my friend."

I think both of them could be models...

Not only were the bride and groom was the whole bridal party.  I could tell that friendships and connections run deep in this crowd!  (Of course, so do some sexy legs!!!)

Crystal's maid of honor shared a sweet story in her toast about how Crystal and Duane met, so I thought I'd share it here.  As far as I understand, Crystal is quite a planner.  She likes to have a plan as to what is happening right now, and what is going to happen. she was at a bar with some friends one night, a guy (that she wanted nothing to do with) started to hit on her.  Evidently, she had a plan for that...and she turned to the nearest guy to her and asked him to pretend to be her boyfriend.  Unplanned to her (and lucky for him), that nearest guy was Duane!!  I like it when a plan comes together and when the plan brings more sweet surprises than we can imagine!!

(Do we need an intermission yet??  A refill on your cup of coffee??  I know this is a lot of pictures, but the day was so full of stories, how could I leave any out??)

The ceremony.....

During the reception, there was a tribute given to and songs sung in honor of Duane's dad who had passed away.  These were sweet moments, and there were few dry eyes in the room.

The first dance...

...but I'm not sure which dance picture I like best!!

There was much fun to be had during this amazing celebration we call a reception!  We had a photobooth (which did originally have a backdrop, but got wine spilled on it...and I think I found the culprit!!), much dancing and a little sneakiness in the bride and groom's room too!!

Shhhh....they want to be alone now!!

Crystal and Duane, what a privilege to be able to photograph your wedding!!  It was amazing!!  To the rest of the readers...thanks for letting me re-live the wedding again, and take a little breather from my Breathe posts.

WOW! What a beautiful couple. I do think they could be models. Just a wonderful job capturing the moments Tara. This is one of my favorites!
