Breathe {inspiration for Wednesdays}

After a few weeks of keeping my head tucked down to keep the full force of the wind (and rain) from hitting it, I looked up yesterday at the trees outside my kitchen windows.  Gone are the completely thin, charcoal silhouettes of the branches against the grey sky.  In their place, I noticed knobby extensions reaching to the (still grey) sky that had taken on a new color.  Ever so slightly...you would have to really pay attention...the color of the branches is turning pink.

New life is moving through the veins of the trees once again, and the evidence is found in the slowly changing hue of each branch.  My heart gets excited knowing that soon there will be an explosion of new buds opening to create a celebration of petals and pink.  But until then, the trees remind me to stop and pay attention to the slow changes that are happening.  They remind me to ask myself the question, "what is about to bloom in my life?"....and to enjoy the time between the bud and the bloom.

Breathe, smile and go slowly.

I love it when the trees turn pink, then green then back to gold, orange and red...! Love our Northwest colors :)
