Red Thread Images Photography Workshop {Learn to Use Your Camera}

At the beginning of November, I had the privilege of hosting a workshop for women who wanted to learn to use their cameras better.  They went from holding their cameras in bewilderment (and some of them taking the equipment out of the box!!) to understanding all the buttons, dials, and how to shoot on manual...and not let the light meter rule over them!!

I don't know about you, but if I am going to learn something, I need to put it into practice right away.  Because of that, we scheduled a photo session with a sweet little one year old.  He couldn't have been a better model!!

Here are some of the images from the AWESOME women....

At the end of the session, we headed to a local (very yummy!) restaurant to talk about our time.
Of course, we had to get a picture.  Of course, I wanted to get in the picture.  Of course, we used the timer.  And of course, someone took a picture of me getting the shot lined up!!

The awesome crew!!!

After lots of conversation, new learning, and really great food on Saturday, we did one more session on Sunday morning.  This time, I chose to be their model so I could talk through with them what I look for when I am photographing someone.
(Despite what it looks like, I am not picking my nose...I am reminding them of angles when we photograph and not to take a picture up someone's nose!)

A couple extras...

I wish I had taken more pictures, but it is tough trying to teach and take pictures of it all at the same time!
We had such a great weekend!!  Can't wait to do it again!  (Not sure if that will be in Denver, Arizona, or the Seattle area!!!)
